Auto scheduling, shift swaps, open shifts and availability. Building a rota for thirty hourly staff is a genuinely hard problem and it is the one they solve.

Their published Essentials price is $2.50 per user per month for single-location teams. For a team that just needs a rota that is very hard to argue with.
Team messaging built in
Getting a shift covered at short notice is a communication problem as much as a scheduling one, and they handle it in the same place.

01 · The unit
A rota describes a place. A visit describes a day.
When I Work answers who is on at the shop between nine and five. We answer where somebody went between nine and five, and how long they stayed at each place.
- Their record is a shift: one location, one start, one end.
- Ours is a visit, and a day contains as many as the day contained.
- If your team works one site, theirs is the better shape and we would say so.

Only the people in the field
Their published tiers run $2.50 to $8 per user per month, and everybody who needs an account is a user.
- Ours is $4 per tracked seat plus a $19 workspace. Office staff and auditors cost nothing.

What survives being questioned
A rota tells you who was meant to be somewhere. The argument six months later is about whether they were, and for how long.
- Every reading carries a trust verdict, and untrusted ones never reach a total.
- Faked positions are detected on the handset, kept, flagged, and excluded.
- Each day is hashed and chained, so an edit afterwards is visible rather than deniable.

Does VisitsTracker do shift rostering?
No. If building and swapping a rota is your hard problem, When I Work is the better purchase and we are not competing for it.
Can we run both?
Yes. Roster in one, record the day in the other. Some teams do exactly that.
Is When I Work cheaper?
At the entry tier, per user, yes: $2.50 against our $4 per tracked seat. But every admin and manager is a billable user there and free here, so the totals often land the other way.
Does When I Work track location continuously?
Their site publishes clock-in by GPS or geofencing. Continuous collection through the day, with a visit derived from it, is not something they publish.
